Peer Review Sp 2024

The Smart Goal for the Spring semester of 2024 is to imporve the quality of the final papers of COM 250, Digital Storytelling.

COM 250 is a course with a mix of lectures around the topic of storytelling and weekly workshops on different technical tools to implement online. 

2D-> Canva

Web Design-> Figma and WebFlow

Video -> Capcut

Audio-> Adobe Podcast and Wavacity. 

The final project has two main components, the website and its personal presentation with the mentioned website as supporting material.

The workflow has three main stepstones:

1-Presenting the writen version of the research as a paper of 1500 words.

2-Design the website with the text of the paper as foundation. The student needs to add some video and audio content.

3-The final presentation of the research using the website as supporting material.

COM 250 has been taugh using this format only once, during the Fall of 2023. One of the main areas of improvement is the creation of some primary data as students tend to collect secondary date around their field of interest.

As part of the last section of the semester, I meet the students weekly to monitor their progress writing and designing their websites. The following video documents an array of short presentations where students introduces to the rest of the class their progress in the writing component of their research.
